I got home late last night from my vacation, and was happy to wake up to Paris.  It felt familiar and warm (even if the temperature was not that warm).  We took a long walk to a new neighborhood, with a researched restaurant as our destination, but when we got there, the restaurant next door was much more enticing.  That may because there was the cutest, scruffy pup at the door.  Lunch was wonderful, but the best part was when the owner gave us peanuts to feed the pup.  He pawed at our legs and gave us droopy-eyed looks - we almost left with him.

Paris is known for its incredible food, but to be honest, we have spent many a meal in a mediocre restaurant.  A bigger drawback, there is no yelp type site to find the great ones, and, whether good or bad, the bill is much much more than a taco joint.  We found some neighborhood gems, and started to frequent them every time we went out for dinner, but then realized we were missing opportunities to explore Paris.  So I am back and I am ready to eat!

Oh, and many pics of Barcelona and Rome are on their way ...

I'll ask my friend Emily to email me a list of her favorite restaurants in Paris - she loooves good food, she grew up going there with her family, and then lived there for a year on a PhD student's budget, so she has some great tips! (and being that that is who I was just in Paris with, I can vouch for this with my very own taste buds ;) Keep having the time of your life! xx Ashley

Hi--I recently moved to Paris and even though it's not very comprehensive, Yelp does cover some Parisian restaurants, with people reviewing in both English and French. Check it out.
